Vikings/Packers Extreme Border Battle: Extreme Sandbox Kicks-Off Fundraising Smash

Team whose fans donate the most to Crescent Cove between now and end of Nov. 22 game “WINS”:  A construction excavator will demolish a minivan decorated in the opposing team’s color and logo

Hastings, Minn. (Nov. 5, 2015) — It doesn’t get any better than this: a Vikings/Packers border battle where the “winner” uses a 19 ton excavator to crush the other’s car. And it’s all in the name of charity.

Extreme Sandbox, one of the few places in the world where visitors can experience the thrill of operating real-life heavy construction equipment for FUN, has kicked off its Second Annual Extreme Border Battle — a chance for Vikings and Packers fans to participate in a fundraising competition in which the “winner” is encouraged to shamelessly display “crushingly bad sportsmanship” for good fun and to help youth who need hospice and the families that care for them.

The Vikings/Packers challenge? The team whose fans donate the most to Crescent Cove between now and the end of the Sunday, Nov. 22 home game wins. Vikings fans can submit their donations here: Packers fans can submit their donations here: Updates will be posted on Extreme Sandbox’s Facebook page:

The prize? A construction excavator will lift, drop, smash, maim, mangle and demolish a minivan painted with the opponent’s team color and logo. The date/time of the grand finale demolition will be announced soon, as will the driver in the cab. Extreme Sandbox and Crescent Cove will also post the demolition video and photos on their Facebook pages. The video will be posted on YouTube as well.

The ultimate winner? Crescent Cove, the Minnesota non-profit organization supporting children and youth with life-threatening conditions and their families. Crescent Cove is dedicated to building the Midwest’s first residential children’s hospice and respite home.

“The border battle between Vikings and Packer fans has gone on forever,” said Randy Stenger, Extreme Sandbox founder and CEO. “This is a great way to bridge that tradition with a crowd favorite at our site, while helping an incredibly important organization in need of critical dollars in order to build the home, Crescent Cove.”
